At a glance

Meta Ads (Facebook + Instagram)

Create demand instead of waiting on it.

Nobody scrolls Facebook hoping to find a plumber. Meta works when you put a reason in front of someone before they were looking: a seasonal tune-up offer, a financing option on a replacement, a maintenance plan, or a retargeting ad chasing people who already visited your site.

Best for

Seasonal and planned work, promotions and financing offers, remodel and replacement work with a long consideration window, retargeting, and recruiting techs.

Watch out

It rarely converts on true emergency work, and it takes longer to prove out than LSA because you are building demand rather than catching it.

In the weeds

How it really works. And what we do about it.

01

Meta creates demand. Google catches it.

Nobody opens Instagram looking for a plumber. Meta works by showing an offer to homeowners in your area who weren't thinking about it yet: a pre-summer AC tune-up, a water heater replacement with financing, a panel upgrade before a remodel, a spring roof inspection.

So the offer and the timing matter more than anything else. We plan campaigns around your slow seasons and the work you want more of.

02

Instant forms vs. landing pages

Instant forms open inside Facebook and fill in the person's name and phone for them. That makes leads cheap, and it also makes accidental and low-effort leads common.

We add qualifying questions (homeowner or renter, zip code, what service, when) and use conditional logic so people outside your area or wanting work you don't do never get counted as a lead. For bigger tickets we often send traffic to a landing page instead.

03

Audiences: what Meta will and won't respect

Meta's Advantage+ audience treats most of your targeting as a suggestion and can go past it if it thinks it'll get cheaper results. Location and minimum age are hard limits, so we set the service area tightly and let the creative do the filtering.

If your ad is about credit or financing, Meta requires a Special Ad Category that limits targeting options. We set that up right so ads don't get rejected.

How this service works
A real job video, then a short form while they are still interested.
04

Retargeting and tracking

Most people who visit your site don't call the first time. We install the Meta Pixel and Conversions API so we can retarget site visitors, people who watched your videos, and people who opened a form but didn't finish.

Where your CRM allows it, we send booked jobs back to Meta so it learns what a real customer looks like, not just who fills out forms.

05

The learning phase and creative testing

New campaigns spend their first stretch in a learning phase, which Meta says usually ends after about 50 results in a week. Big edits restart it, so we avoid tinkering every day.

We test a few creative angles at once (before and after, crew on the job, owner talking to camera) and move budget to whichever books jobs.

Which channel is right for you

Start where the intent already is.

If people are already searching for what you do, buy that search. If they are not, you have to create the reason. Here is how the three paid channels stack up side by side.

How we decide with you

One channel first. Layer the next when it earns it.

We would rather run one channel that produces booked jobs than three that produce a nice-looking report. On the discovery call we work through your trade, your market, and your numbers, then pick the starting point together.

  1. 01

    Your trade and job mix

Emergency work, planned work, or a split. This alone rules one or two channels in or out.

  2. 02

    LSA eligibility

We check whether your category and market qualify, and what lead volume is realistically available.

  3. 03

    Market size and ticket

A small market with high ticket work is a different plan than a metro with high volume and thin margins.

  4. 04

    Current lead flow

Where jobs come from today, what your Google Business Profile looks like, and what is already working before we add spend.

  5. 05

    Launch one, then layer

We turn on the best-fit channel, track cost per booked job, and only add the next channel once the first is producing or capped.

How we run it

Our process, step by step.

  1. 01

    Pick the offer

We choose the seasonal or planned work you want more of and build a clear, honest offer around it.

  2. 02

    Build creative and tracking

Real job photos and short videos, forms with qualifying questions, Pixel and Conversions API.

  3. 03

    Launch and learn

Tight service area, a few creative angles, and enough budget to get out of the learning phase.

  4. 04

    Retarget and refine

Retarget warm audiences, cut losing ads, and report cost per booked job, not cost per lead.

Mistakes we fix

What we find when we take over.

  • Running emergency repair ads on Facebook and wondering why nobody calls.
  • Instant forms with zero questions, so half the leads are renters or out of area.
  • Stock photos that look like every other ad in the feed.
  • Leads sitting in the inbox for a day before anyone calls them back.
  • Editing campaigns daily, so they never leave the learning phase.
FAQ

Straight answers.

Will Facebook ads work for emergency repairs?

Rarely. When the water heater dies, people search Google. Meta earns its money on planned and seasonal work: tune-ups, replacements, upgrades, maintenance plans, and retargeting people who already visited your site.

Lead form or landing page?

Instant forms get more leads for less, but they're often lower quality because they're so easy to fill out. We usually add a qualifying question or two, or send people to a landing page when the job is bigger and we want fewer, better leads.

Why are my Facebook leads junk?

Usually it's a default setting: a broad audience, a form with no questions, ads running outside your service area, or nobody calling the lead back fast enough. We fix the setup and help your office call new leads within minutes.

Do my ads have to be in a special category?

Some do. Meta requires a Special Ad Category for ads about housing, employment, and credit or financial products, which limits targeting. If you're promoting financing, for example, we set that up correctly so your ads don't get rejected.

How long before Meta ads work?

Give it a few weeks. New campaigns go through a learning phase while Meta figures out who responds, and creative usually needs a couple of rounds before we find the winner.

What creative works best?

Real photos and short videos of your crew and your jobs, a clear offer, and a reason to act now. Stock photos get scrolled past.
